God the Creator, Part 3: God the Creator of Heaven and Earth

This morning I want you to consider two things related to Gen. 1:1, in order to stretch your mind around the amazing and mind-blowing implications of the first verse of the Bible, to provoke you to worship and praise God, and to know your life has meaning.

What did God do before He created the heavens and earth? We might think, that because Gen. 1:1 is the first verse of the Bible, and records the creation of all things, that there is nothing to discuss before Gen. 1:1, but that would be incorrect. Someone existed before everything we know existed – God! God the triune God, one God in three persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, has existed from all eternity.
