Paul to Titus

Titus is one of the key books that reveals to us what Christ wants in his pastors, elders, overseers. He describes their necessary giftedness, training, testing, character, and gives us their job description. We don’t need a committee, we just need to read and obey Jesus Christ in humility trusting He knows best.

Men’s hearts are hard and it takes clear, direct, bold, reproving, rebuking, exhorting, preaching with all authority, to drive the truth into a sin cursed heart. Titus was the man sent by Paul to get the churches at Crete set in order and to preach sound doctrine with all authority.
