Famine of the Word

This sermon discusses the worst judgment God can send upon a nation – a famine of God’s Word. Many Christians around the world are suffering from a sort of spiritual anorexia. They see themselves as fat with biblical knowledge, when in fact they are starving. They are not starving because they don’t have access to the Bible. They are starving for three primary reasons: 1) They refuse to read, study, and meditate on the Bible in their possession; 2) the pastors of many churches refuse to preach the Word of God and feed their sheep sound doctrine from the pulpit. Instead they feed them chaff and junk food; 3) Congregations will not call a preacher to be their pastor who preaches the Word of God, instead they want their ears tickled and lusts fed.
