What Is The Church?

The Church is here on earth to accomplish three different ministries that at times overlap with each other. The church exists to 1) exalt and worship God by doing ministry for God's glory according to God's Word, relying on God's resources, (Eph. 3:21; 1 Pet. 4:10-11); 2) edify and equip believers by preaching and teaching the whole counsel of God in love, so that they can live and minister in the likeness of Christ (Eph. 4:11-16); and 3) evangelize the lost by proclaiming the Gospel of Christ both privately and publicly to all the world (2 Cor. 5:18-21; 2 Tim. 4:5). This is why this church and every other God glorifying church exists. All ministry falls into these three groups.
