Calling Sinners to Repentance

Explaining the necessity of repentance for salvation and the relationship between repentance and faith. In Lk. 13:23-24 Jesus was asked by someone how many people would enter heaven. His answer is fearful and sobering. Lk. 13:23-24 reads, "And someone said to Him, 'Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?' And He said to them, 'Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. The many, the majority, the bulk of humanity, most will perish in hell.'" The word “strive” is word we get agonize from. Agonize, labor, exert maximum effort to enter the narrow door. Notice that Jesus said many will seek to enter, but will not be able!
